Community Wellness Hub | St. Paul, Minnesota
A Place For Our
Community to Heal
We're raising $250K to transform the former Keystone Community Center into a Community Wellness Hub, a place where individuals and families can find mental health care, youth programs, economic opportunities, and culturally rooted support under one roof.

WHO WE ARE
Rooted in Community
Roots Wellness Center is a Black and Brown founded and led mental health and family-focused organization providing holistic, culturally rooted, and de-westernized wellness support.
We're creating the Community Wellness Hub in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood, a community still impacted by the George Floyd uprisings, systemic inequities, and ongoing health disparities.
This will be a space designed to address those realities through healing, culture, community, resources, and opportunity.

Community Wellness Hub Fundraiser
RWC’s vision for the community wellness hub is to provide a wide range of services and resources that address the holistic well-being of residents. This includes:
Mental & Physical Health
Culturally responsive therapy, trauma-informed care, addiction support, holistic wellness, and de-westernized approaches to healing.
Economic Empowerment
Financial planning, tax education, business mentoring, and resources that help families and entrepreneurs build economic stability.
Youth Programs
Dedicated spaces and drop-in programming where young people can find support, education, connection, and resources.
Mental & Physical Health
Connections to resources that address the real-life needs affecting individual and family well-being.
Mental & Physical Health
Space for holistic, somatic, ancestral, and community-centered practices that honor the ways our communities have healed for generations.

OUR IMPACT
Our Work in Action
We've served thousands of individuals and families across the Twin Cities through culturally rooted programs designed around real community needs. Our programs have demonstrated the ongoing need for a central community wellness hub. Some of our key achievements include:

Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS), Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS), and a groundbreaking in-home recovery pilot program in partnership with Hennepin County and Yale.
Innovative Mental Health Programs:

Educational Support:
Learning Lab, free learning pods during COVID-19 for under-resourced students, and digital navigation services to bridge the digital divide.
Substance Use Recovery:
Our harm-reduction, intensive outpatient treatment program has prevented out-of-home placements for infants at a rate of 86% for Native and Black participants.

Protecting the Mission Matters
Roots Wellness Center intentionally began as a for-profit organization. We wanted to avoid the mission drift that can happen within the philanthropic industrial complex, where funding priorities and stipulations can begin shaping what organizations provide instead of the communities they're meant to serve.
Starting differently gave us the freedom to listen to our community first.
It allowed us to build grassroots, holistic, culturally rooted wellness programs based on what people actually needed—not simply what outside systems were willing to fund.
That commitment remains at the heart of the Community Wellness Hub
THE GOAL: $250 Thousand
Help Us Finish It
Roots Wellness Center has financed the Community Wellness Hub project on our own to this point. Now, we're asking our community, partners, and supporters to help us complete the vision.
Your contribution will help us:

Help Us Build What Our Community Deserves
We're not simply reconstructing a building. We're creating a place where Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other historically underserved communities can heal, connect, learn, build wealth, access resources, preserve culture, and belong.
Help us raise $1.5 million to bring the Community Wellness Hub to life in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood.
